The African Children Aquatic Foundation (ACAF) is a charitable initiative that originated under the umbrella of Kiddies Aqua Swimming Academy. The 2014 Global Report on Drowning by the World Health Organization (WHO) identifies drowning as a major but overlooked public health issue. Young children are especially vulnerable, with the highest drowning rates among those aged 1\u20134 years, followed by 5\u20139 years, often due to lapses in supervision. Drowning is the 3rd leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide, <\/b>accounting for 7% of all injury-related deaths. There are an estimated 236 000 <\/b>annual drowning deaths worldwide the majority in emerging economies. Global <\/b>estimates may significantly underestimate the actual public health problem <\/b>related to drowning especially in Africa. Children with increased access to water <\/b>are most at risk of drowning. Low- and middle-income countries account for over <\/b>90% of unintentional drowning deaths.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
